Meet the Pearland Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

We’re not a franchise with a rotating cast. The person who answers your call, the person who shows up in the van, and the person whose name is on the invoice all work out of the same shop here in Pearland. Otto Reinhardt started this company in 2004, and the crew he’s built since then has stayed remarkably steady. Most of us have been here over a decade. We live in the same county we work in, which means we fix garage doors for people we’ll likely see at the grocery store on Saturday. That’s not a marketing line. It’s just how it works when you’re the one down the road.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt – Owner & Lead Technician

Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 and still takes calls, quotes jobs, and turns wrenches himself. If you call after hours, there’s a good chance he’s the one answering. He’s trained across all major brands, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor, and he counts spring cycles the way most people count tire miles. His rule is simple: quote the price on the call, hold it at the door. No revisions, no surprise line items. After 29 years in the trade, he can usually diagnose a door over the phone just by listening to it. He’s the name on the van, the invoice, and the license, and he treats every job like the homeowner will see him again on Saturday, because they probably will.

Marcus D. – Senior Installer

Marcus joined the crew in 2012 and handles most of our full door installations and replacements across Pearland, Friendswood, and the surrounding communities. Before he got into garage doors, he framed houses, which means he understands how a door opening actually sits in a wall, not just how the tracks bolt on. He’s our go-to person for Clopay and Amarr installs and has a reputation for getting the reveal gaps right the first time. When he’s not working, he’s rebuilding a 1972 Chevy truck that he insists is “almost done,” a phrase his wife will tell you he’s been using since 2016.

Lena R. – Service Coordinator

Lena is the voice you’ll hear most often when you call during the day. She’s been with Otto’s since 2015 and knows the schedule, the parts inventory, and the service area well enough to tell you honestly when we can be there and what to expect. She schedules every job, tracks every warranty follow-up, and makes sure no call goes unanswered, including the ones that come in at nine at night when a spring lets go. Lena has a habit of remembering every customer’s dog’s name, which means returning customers get asked about the dog before they get asked about the door. If you need paperwork pulled or a parts order checked, she’s the one who handles it without making you wait on hold.

DeShawn T. – Technician & Apprentice

DeShawn is the newest member of the crew, apprenticing under Otto since 2022. He came to us from a commercial dock equipment background, so he arrived already comfortable with heavy doors and high-cycle springs. He handles opener diagnostics, weather sealing, and roller and cable work, and he shadows Otto on spring replacements until he’s earned the right to do them solo. DeShawn is meticulous about torque specs and job notes, which makes him the one who keeps our service records clean. He’s also the only person in the shop who can consistently back a trailer into our narrow lot on the first try, a skill Otto claims is worth more than any certification.

One Standard, Every Job

Every job leaves the shop with the same promise attached, the 90-Day Done Right Promise, in writing, on the invoice. It doesn’t matter whether Otto, Marcus, or DeShawn handles the work. The standard is the same: diagnose honestly, quote upfront, fix it right the first time. If something isn’t right within ninety days, one call brings us back. No runaround, no call-center phone tree, just a live person who knows your address and your door. We’re licensed and insured, background-checked, uniformed, and trained on all major brands. And if a customer is a senior or veteran, the 10% discount is automatic, not something they have to ask for. That’s how Otto built this company in 2004, and it’s how the crew runs it today.
